Four Eyes: A Life Long Dream

"All my life: that is how long I've waited for this moment".  That's what I thought yesterday when I got my new glasses!

When I was a kid I desperately wanted glasses.  Everyone in my house needed them and the ophthalmologist told me I had better than 20/20 vision.  It was heart breaking!

As an adult I've often been asked "why don't you just wear fake ones then?".  But the problem is that I was too stupid to think of that when I was younger.  So, I worried that all of a sudden showing up to work, a friend's house, etc with glasses on as an adult would inevitably lead to the statement "hey, I didn't know you wore glasses".  Which would bring forth two possible answers:  1) Lie 2) tell the truth and have everyone know I'm the loser who is wearing fake glasses.  So I never had glasses; only extreme envy of anyone who did have them.

Yesterday that all changed.  Turns out having children will ruin your eyes and I've had two children!  I came home from picking out a pair thrilled!  I think they make me look even smarter than I already am.  My husband thinks they make me look "wicked hot".  Honestly I swear I got checked out on the Deerfoot last night while driving.  My face looks thinner, I could go on and on.  Also?  I can actually see!  Holy crap was the world ever dull before.

The downside to all of this is that I will defiantly have to clean more.  I'm starting to realize the secret to a happy marriage is for both people to have vision problems.

And I will leave you with a very rare picture of me:

I think they look great! Funny because I hated wearing glasses...I found them such a pain (though didn't mind how they made me look). I got laser eye surgery just over 5 years ago.

LOL "the secret to a happy marriage is for both people to have vision problems." Life changing revelation right there!

Your glasses look great! I grew up wearing glasses and I, for one, hate wearing them.

Wishing you a wonderful long weekend!

They look great! I would wear my glasses over my contacts if it were cloudy all day. :)
